South Chicago, Chicago - good public transportation options?

South Chicago has decent public transportation, though I would hesitate to call it ideal. It's nice there for sure, and you can find plenty of train options and buses. It just isn't the safest neighborhood and you might want to avoid public transportation at times.

Yes, there is a Metra station in South Chicago, which will take you downtown and to the suburbs. You'll also have access to several bus lines.
