"A Place for the city folks"

In the heart of downtown Atlanta, at 50 Upper Alabama Street is Underground Atlanta. Filled with the spirit and liveliness of any big city, Underground Atlanta has lots to do and see at any time and at any day. During the day, enjoy souvenir shopping and street performers and entertainment, and at night visit one of the many downtown restaurants and then dance the night away at a club. I'm a Philadelphia native, born and raised, and South Street is one of our most famous attractions for cultural history and the urban experience. Underground Atlanta provides the same unique allure, with everything from shopping boutiques to authentic local restaurants. I passed on the offered tours in favor of walking around this historic district on my own initiative. I can't comment much on the nightlife since I went during the day, but some unusual-looking bars caught my eye and may draw me back some other time to get a closer look.

"Good trip"

Alabama street is between Peachtree St. and Wall St. IF YOU are on this street you can see the entrance to The Atlanta Undergroud. There are many shops and restaurants where you can just hang out. It is actually a underground shopping center. If you have time to visit one place make it the Atlanta Undergroud.

"Beware of parking on the street"

Pryor Street is a perfectly serviceable downtown street that features government buildings including the Fulton County Justice Center. Traffic is rarely bad and while the one-way nature of the street can prove confusing to a visitor, it is very functional. One thing to worry about: be very careful about parking on Pryor Street. Not because of crime as the police presence is high. The concern is that the meter maids are very diligent about giving out parking tickets and the tickets are expensive. If you are visiting a government building, I highly recommend parking in the nearby Underground Atlanta parking deck. You will save money in the long run.

"Take a Tour of Atlanta's Goverment Center"

On a short strech of M. L. King Jr. Dr. Between Pryor St. and Spring St. lies the center of Atlanta's goverment center. Travelling NW on Pryor St. you'll pass the Fulton County Goverment Center travel a little further you'll run into a triad of Federal Govement buildings namely the Sam Nunn, Martin Luther King Jr. and the Richard B. Russel Buildings. This walk isn't for everyone but if you like goverment buildings you'll like this street.
