No, the Loop is not exactly a great place to raise kids. Is it fun to visit? Oh yeah. Is there a lot to do and see? Yep. Museums? Yeah. But it's a bit too active, and I don't think the schools there are as good. The main reason I'd be against having kids in The Loop is that it doesn't have a real neighborhood feel. People come in during the day, and leave at night. Not a real sense of community. It's safe though.
