You don't have a ton of options in Roscoe Village, but Hamlin Park is okay, there's a pool there, and Chi Che Wang Park is nearby, though that's not as kid friendly in my opinion.

The best playground would be Fellger Park and Playlot. This was recently redone and is more safe and kid friendly (sadly dogs are not allowed). There is almost an acre of playground equipment plus benches for the parents. In the summer the tall plastic sculptures become fountains of water for the kids to play in.
