"Busy Beach Neighborhood"

For the true beach lovers, PB is one of the best parts of San Diego. Sure, it's noisy and filled with traffic throughout the summer months and most weekend throughout the year, but so what! If you LIVE here, you never have to get in your car if you don't really want to. That's the best thing about PB - that you can walk anywhere you need to go. Someone said to me "I have more tread left on my tires than I do on my flip-flops". That's life in PB!

For real treats, seek out local dives like Cass Street Bar and Grill or PB Sports Club (right on the beach). Breakfast at The Broken Yolk is yummy; but lacks the view and ambiance of World Famous, located at the end of Pacific Beach Drive. What's better than enjoying some Carne Asada Eggs Benedict while watching dolphins catch waves next to surfers! Seriously!

Pacific Beach is not as upscale as La Jolla, no; but there are some really nice neighborhoods as you head North up Mission Blvd towards Bird Rock. The farther North you go from Garnet, the quieter the neighborhoods get, even nice enough for families to live full-time.

PB is more than just a place to visit, it's a great place to live!

"A neighborhood for beach lovers and bar hoppers!"

Garnet Avenue is located in Pacific Beach/San Diego, California. If you like quiet and peaceful neighborhoods, then this is not the place for you. Majority of the population are college students from neighboring universities, such as UC San Diego and San Diego State University. This means that it can get very loud and crowded here on certain days of the week. This neighborhood is also the busiest around school breaks, such as spring, winter, and especially summer! Tourists come to Pacific Beach all the time to enjoy the beach, and Sea World is also near this neighborhood, so it’s very hard to find parking around here during the summer. It is for party goers, since the strip is practically filled with bars and restaurants. You will also find different boutiques and small businesses here as well. This street is not only fun, it is also convenient because the grocery stores, such as Vons and Ralphs are walking distance. It’s also one of the most affordable places to live in San Diego that’s near the beach. This is a lot less expensive than Mission Beach/Mission Bay area. My favorite here are the restaurants that are very affordable, such as Broken Yolk Café and Kono’s Café.
