Merrick Blvd, Laurelton

The street is filled with small local restaurants that are pleasantly ethnic, and some chain stores and restaurants. The only chain food restaurant there are is Dunkin Donuts, Jerk Hut and Coleman's Creamery. So if you are looking for McDonald's you are out of luck. This street is were most of the surrounding neighborhood shops for food, take karate classes, get there hair done, Visit the local bike shop, or do other little things. So, you will sometimes meet up with your neighbors. There is also an excellent school here. Though it doesn't have all one's shopping needs it gives the nearby neighborhoods a small town feel. But, there are constantly new stores and there are plans to develop this business street more, which brings a bitter sweet taste to the residents that live here.
