"Oh the I-17..."

The major north/south artery of Phoenix. Traffic is usually not too bad, unless it's rush-hour and then I would try some side streets. When you get out of the city, it's actually an incredibly beautiful drive, especially around sunset. I recommend doing it at least once while you're there.
