First and foremost, the University of Chicago is right there, so that alone boosts the quality of the schools in Hyde Park right there. William Ray Elementary School is also supposed to be pretty good, so you have a few different options in the area.

Hyde Park has 17 public, private, and parochial schools from preschool through High School age.

William H. Ray Elementary school is a multicultural elementary school in the heart of Hyde Park. This school was recently named a "model school" by the Illinois State Board of Education.

You also have Murray Language Academy, one of the top ranked magnet schools, and Akiba-Schecter, the only Jewish school in this area of Chicago.

For younger children there is the Parent Cooperative for Early Learning - which offers a preschool environment that is based on play.

The University of Chicago, located in Hyde Park, also plays a big role in the school environment. Their four Charter Schools serve as a model for the best urban education has to offer.
