Whats it like living in the Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago?

My opinion of Garfield Park changes from time to time. It's not the worst neighborhood, but it is certainly a little dangerous at times. It's cheap, which is great, and the actual park is very nice, so there are a number of positives, but the higher crime rate, lower income levels, and lack of good bars, clubs and restaurants don't make it the most exciting or desirable place to live.
