Crefeld St, Chestnut Hill

Crefeld Street is a street with a pretty cool history. There were whispers of haunted locales on this street, which I haven't ever seen myself (although there's an annual halloween tour of the area), and it's got some spectacular architecture!

It's also home to the Crefeld School (8836 Crefeld Street). The Crefeld School, a progressive college prep school and member of the Coalition of Essential Schools, serves grades 7-12. I may be a bit biased when I say they're awesome, but that's because I went there!

The street has a very cozy feeling, but it's an upscale cozy. I don't think I'm too far off when I say that this is a pretty affluent street, and it's got an upscale artsy-vibe to it. It's close to Germantown Ave, home of some fine shopping venues and restaurants. It's also a very quiet street, minus any events and classes that go on at the school. Traffic isn't usually too bad (until school starts or closes for the day) and there really is no noise or activity at night.

I would recommend this street to just about anybody.
