"A great historical street"

Chestnut Street benefits from being set back a little from Walnut St. While there are still a few shops and restaurants, its real attraction is not retail- rather, most people come here to take in Independence Hall. The area is well kept up and just lovely to visit. As a bonus, the University of Pennsylvania campus is fairly close (nearer to Walnut, though) and its buildings should be tourist attractions in and of themselves.

"This is where some Beautiful Buildings are Located"

Chestnut Street has some beautiful buildings located on it. This is where the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia is located. This hotel is absolutely amazing. Not only is it beautiful outside, but the inside is spectacular. They have some of the most beautiful artwork and decor. The traffic is congested at certain times of the day and there is some local construction that can cause delays, but overall this is a great place to be.

"Historical Heart of the City"

Chestnut St. is arguably one of the most important historic sites in America. The main feature is Independence Hall, whose history needs little explanation here. The building that saw the creation and signing of the declaration of independence is now a shrine to America's founding, with tours that will allow you to see historic items such as Washington's sunrise chair. Nearby is Congress Hall, the home of America's government from 1790-1800. For a more modern take on this historic event, just down the street there is the Lights of Liberty, a light and sound show about America's founding.

"Chestnut Street the Center of American History."

One of the most Historically Signifigant steets in the world is Chestnut Street between Front St. and Ninth. I can't possible doi this street justice but in a short strech you'll find sich sights as Congress Hall, The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and The Bourse. The density of history sites in this area is truly amazing you could spend a entire day exploring here.
