Ocean Avenue runs from around the Sunset District (Junipero Serra) all the way to Mission Street. It is conveniently located and easily accessible. Along Ocean Avenue there is access to freeway 280. There are also many schools located near or along Ocean Avenue such as Lowell High School, Aptos Middle School, City College of San Francisco, Balboa High School and Lick Wilmerding.
It is a very convenient areas for families, especially with kids to live in. There are stores and eateries on most blocks. There are also pharmacies, gas stations, fitness centers, nail salons, and many more places. It is truly perfect for anyone who enjoys walking. It is also a perfect area to live in if you do not drive. Multiple MUNI buses pass by Ocean Avenue, such as the 49, the K train, and the 43. These means of transportation also provide quick arrival to other surrounding neighborhoods and even downtown.
During the afternoon and the mornings Ocean Avenue gets very crowded with pedestrians and also automobiles. It is sometimes a little hectic during these times, but other than that it is generally pleasant.
There are conveniently houses located all along the streets that cross Ocean, some nicer than others though. Some houses are nicer than others, but it is a mixed neighborhood. It is a safe place to live or visit.
