"Great for joggers, during off-traffic hours"
West Drive meanders through Central Park, and so does car traffic. If you’re looking for a place to jog, there are safer paths to be had in the park. This is a lovely street, though (except for maybe during the winter months, when the trees seem depressingly grey). However, this street is only open to traffic from 8am-10am on weekdays, and since the park opens at 6am and closes at 1am there is plenty of time to jog on this street when it’s traffic-free.
West Dr
"Take the scenic route"
Following West Drive for its length takes you into the heart of Central Park and lets you see so much of the beauty and splendour of the park and more importantly, lets you people watch to your hearts content. Situated close to the Central Park West side, it touches on near enough the Jackie Onassis Reservoir, The Lake and The Pond which means if you like the water and all things nautical, this road is the one for you to use whilst winding your way through Central Park.

West Dr
"West drive, another short but sweet road"
West drive is another VERY small road but immensely beatuiful and important. West drive allows one to enter into the majesty of Central Park. Near Columbus Circle, another Manhattan landmark, West drive can afford a visitor a wonderful intorduction to Central Park. I love the nearby pond and the spring/summer flowers that bloom in myriad colors. There are some truly wonderful statues near and on this street. Also nearby is the Plaza hotel, not only a residence, but a museum of opulence! Please continue to Center Dr and on up into the Park's larger sections with monuments, fountains, lakes, and fields all waiting for you!

West Dr
"A perfect place to exercise."
Forging a circuitous route through Central Park along with several other roads, West Drive provides a perfect escape for runners and bikers who want to run on a solid track inside a beautiful area. There are very few days when the Drive won’t have many people exercising on it – rain or shine, night or day, you are likely to encounter another person doing the same thing as you. There are public bathrooms and water fountains nearby if you need, and also many vendors selling water and food if you wear yourself out.
