Broadway -171 st. Is it a safe area for tourists?
I'm a European female who is going to rent a room in Washington Heights ( Broadway-171st St). Is it safe to stay there?

Its a very good sign, even though all areas of manhattan have 10 murders and below a year, while parts in the bronx and brooklyn have around 20-25 murders. Rape, assault, etc. Thats another story for all areas.
