South Deering isn't the best neighborhood of Chicago in my opinion. It's way down south, and while the home prices are very low, there's little to do here, few restaurants to enjoy and it's just a boring little neighborhood. I wouldn't call it dangerous, but it's not fun or lively either.

South Deering, Chicago is a neighborhood with strong industrial roots, but with lots of nature too. You have both Lake Calumet and the Calumet River within the borders of South Deering. Trumball Park is also in this area and has a beautiful abundance of Gingko trees.

Most of the residents of this neighborhood live along the northern border near Calumet Heights.
