"Rose Street- great for UK students"
Rose Street is inhabited mostly by college students, in dorms and sorority houses. At the far end of Rose St, near downtown, there are also some older homes used as rentals for students or single residence homes. This street is centrally located to UK's campus so it is great for college students and there are several fun restaurants (Tolly-Ho) and bars nearby for students. There are also some fun, funky retail shops and tattoo parlors. The street is fairly safe except for traffic, which is very heavy, usually bumper to bumper, and many pedestrians that must co-exist. This street is also very noisy due to the UK hospital and constant ambulance sirens. I lived in a dorm on Rose St and the sound of helicopters and sirens from the hospital is so constant that you barely notice it after a while. Not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing.
