Newman Dr, Winston Manor / West Winston Manor

Newman Dr is surprisingly nice for families despite being close to a major throughway - Junipero Serra Blvd. It is on a hill, but much of the street is leveled off, which is nice to know if you have kids so they don't go running down a hill. The houses are nice and big with two stories, so living space is nice on the street. Since Newman parallels Junipero Serra, there are many cars passing through, usually on King Drive. The noise from Junipero Serra is the drawback for Newman, because throughout the day cars are passing by. Backyard space is a bit limited as well, so if you want your family to have a nice sized yard to play in or have gatherings, Newman might not be for you. Overall though, many families make do, and well. It is fairly close to stores like Target and Home Depot, and public transportation like SamTrans which passes along Junipero Serra. Access to the freeways is also convenient.
