Street Closures for St. Patrick's Day Parade
According to NY1, there will be some streets closed tomorrow for the city's St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The streets closed will be Fifth Avenue from 44th to 86th Streets. The parade is expected to run up the avenue. The staging area will also be closed to traffic – that's 44th to 46th Streets from Vanderbilt Avenue to Sixth Avenue and 47th to 48th Streets from Park Avenue to Sixth Avenue.
If you have to access Central Park by way of the transverse streets, you will be able to.
If you plan to attend the parade, take public transportation, because vehicles will not be allowed in many areas. The Long Island Railroad is adding extra service to accommodate the crowds expected.
For you drinkers, alcohol is prohibited. Police will be out in force to confiscate any alcoholic beverages. They may even arrest those with alcohol.
