MTA Decides Not To Cut Services

NY1 just posted a story about the MTA not cutting services.

You can read the entire story here:

I think this is great that many buses and subway lines are not going to get cut after all.

I guess it does pay to voice your opinion.

I'm really glad to hear this news, @hhusted! NYC needs all the public transportation efficiency it can get, considering the environmental effects of pollution and excessive car use

I agree, ajadedidealist. It is about time the MTA does things for the people in this city.

Well, I just got word that the MTA will go ahead and make service cuts. You can read about it here:

@hhusted I too read these conflicting reports, one day the MTA said they were going to preserve certain buses and trains and the very next day they turned around and changed their mind!

Boo, hiss! Thanks for the news, @hhusted, but I certainly can't say I'm pleased about it. Grumble grumble - they should be putting in more lines of service, not fewer!

@Ajadedidealist: I agree with you. But since the MTA lost funding from both the state and city, they are practically on their own. So they have to do whatever it takes to lower and balance the budget. I still say, let go a few top brass, and they will have most of the money they need.
