Restaurants by Lincoln Center

I tend to go out for dinner when I am going to Lincoln Center. For years I've liked O'Neals, mostly for the ambiance and you just never know who you will see there. But since I have to be careful of my diet, I've also enjoyed Josephina. They have some other restaurants with different names around manhattan.

What gets your vote for dining near Lincoln Center? And Josephina has mixed reviews, depending on time of day and the server you get. Any experiences?

Josephina's has great food, but a slightly older crowd (think 50's and 60's), which might make it a bit staid. O'Neals is festive, but can be crowded. The ultimate best food in LS? A tie, I'd say. Nick and Tony's has fantastic Italian food and a very romantic atmosphere, whereas Fiorello's has great pizza and antipasti (same people as Trattoria dell'Arte, with their famous antipasto bar), and a much livelier, more convivial atmosphere. Breadsoul cafe has some good sandwiches/light fare, although little seating space. And there's that Viennese opera cafe for desserts or teatime - they have free newspapers there as well!
