NYC Working With $3 billion Surplus

I don't know if anyone has heard but the budget has been passed and no one is going to get laid off. This means no firehouse closures, no librarians to get laid off, and most of all, no swimming pool closures.

Actually, NYC has a surplus of $3 billion and was unwilling to use it at first. But now they are being forced to.

What is even better about the deal is no new tax increases.

I'm happier about the lack of layoffs, myself! Then again, I'm now resident in Georgia (the country, not the state) so I'm not playing NYC taxes for the time being

@Uraniumfish exactly though I am glad that the ACS is being restored NYC needs an agency that looks after the needs of its children.

I think the city should focus more on education and keeping the library staffed than anything else. Kids and even adults need a place to sit, medicate, unwind, and study.
