Install Gates or Protective Devices at Subway Platforms

In light of the recent death of a passenger, waiting for the 6th train, and based on the money suicides in the subway, I think the MTA should consider installing some kind of gate, protective device, or barrier at each subway station, that has seen the highest percentage of suicides or deaths, to keep people from falling off or stepping off the platform.

I am planning to address this at the next MTA meeting.

What do the rest of you think about this? Is it a good idea? Or should something else be done.

I understand what you are saying Ajadedidealist. I realize if people want to end it all they will, but if there is a system in place, they won't think about doing it there. Plus, with a barrier in place, no one would drop anything on the tracks and try to go after it.
