Imagination Playground Opens in Manhattan

I read on NY1 today that the David Rockwell Imagination Playground has been opened. The place is on john Street between Front St and South Street. Mayor Michael Bloomberg spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony today.

The playground was built with federal funding that was intended for the revitalization of Lower Manhattan following the September 11th terrorist attacks.

I don't know about the rest of you, but the next time I go down there, I think I will stop by and check out the area just to see what it looks like.

That sounds like a very cool program! I'll definitely stop by next time I'm in the area. I love federally-funded "revitalization" programs - by and large, they turn out really well, and are a testament to what money can buy if spent well. Perhaps I'm optimistic, though. I'm living partially in Tbilisi now and the renovations done on the somewhat crumbling Old Town are incredible - the buildings keep their historical character, but are shiny, clean, and new-looking!
