Extra Police and Military On Duty

Has anyone been aware lately that when going to certain places, like the subway, Penn Station, LIRR, or Madison Square Garden, that more cops and military personnel are out and about.

I noticed this recently and my girlfriend told me today she noticed it to.

Maybe they know something we don't, which is usually the case.
