Dangerous Cab Drivers

Has anyone ever been in a cab where the driver would take risky turns or practically run into another vehicle or pedestrian?

I was on a bus today and this cab pulled right in front of the bus. I really thought the bus was going to ram him.

What, you don't love the maniac cab drivers? You gotta love the maniac cab drivers. They're a danger to themselves and others, but you still gotta love them.

Lol @thatchick..... Oooh sounds scary! I had a friend that went to New York for vacation last year and she luckily had a sane cab driver. But she did tell me about a time she saw a similar incident while she was there. Scaryyyy!!!

My friend who lives in Windsor Terrace had a strange experience with a cab driver out in Times Square. She got in and told him to take the Manhattan Bridge, which is close to where she lives. But he insisted on taking the Brooklyn Bridge. So she said okay, just let me out of the cab then. But he pretended to call the cops and locked the doors so she couldn't get out. Really scary. He was pretending to talk on the phone, saying there is a drunk girl in my cab who refuses to pay... and she then informed him that if he called the cops she would say he tried to do something to her. He promptly unlocked the doors. @DBlack I have to say that I do not love maniac cab drivers.

Holy smokes, @BroadwayBK! I don't know what I would do if a cabbie tried to lock me in. Visions of son of sam running through my head. . . .

@BroadwayBK Oh, my! The idea of some freakoid cabbie locking me in would scare me out of my mind. I really hope your friend kept cool enough to get that guy's ID number and file a complaint. He sounds a little imbablanced.

That is INSANE and terrifying! I must say, I am used to trusting cabbies, but it's worth thinking twice before you essentially get in the back of a stranger's car.

@BroadwayBK It sounds like your friend was pretty savvy and kept her cool, as least long enough to get out of what could have been a dangerous situation with a strange guy...Good for her that she was so quick on her toes.
