No shortage of Mexican Restaraunts

I've been to this street before and there are definitely a lot of good places to eat. I really enjoy Armando's, their quesadillas are amazing. El Rancho is a great place to take the family if you're looking to eat out. There are also tons of fast food places all up and down this street.

One of the nicer areas in Detroit

I really like strolling on this street, there are quite a few nice areas to see, especially up where it crosses Vernor. I'm particularly fond of the atmosphere around the morning when there is quite a bit of activity here.

Long stretches of convenience stores and such

This as with most of the mile roads in Detroit is a long East West stretch of convenience stores, shopping marts, and specialty stores. As you get closer towards the city more abandoned buildings and graffiti.

Quiet now, lots of history

This area has a lot of older buildings and structures that look like they were at one time thriving. There is a lot of decay, and the nearby freeways nearly obliterate any peace in the area. I'd still visit this area for a good show though.

Beautiful little street

This is a little riverfront street that connects the Cobo and Joe Louis Arena. It's a very pleasant little stroll, and the pathways are very nice. It's definitely very fun to walk when it's quiet and dark outside, as it's usually very private, and well maintained.

This route is a little bit confusing if you don't know what you're looking for. I've been with many friends who have gotten lost or taken wrong turns on this road as there's usually quite a bit of traffic to deal with here.

I took my son to Grand Circus Park on one of our last days in Detroit.
This street has a shady and well deserved reputation.
Working class street

I lived on this street for over 15 years. There are brick homes, and is relatively quiet, save the occassional boom-beat car or truck passing by.
This street can be a dangerous place at night - but there are those who have lived there for more than 20 years.
Not a great place to be in the city...

It is residential on Clark Street, but it is right off a major thoroughfare, and it gets noisy. There is a lot of crime, and a lot of rundown buildings and homes in the area. I don't recommend travelling here by yourself at night.

Beautiful retreat inside the city

This part of Detroit is gorgeous. It backs to an enormout park, and homes were built in the mid 80's. There is some interesting architecture, and it is a quiet subdivision with a lot of families and a lot of kids.

Great Growing Neighborhood

This subdivision is just a few years old and it still being built up. It's a beautiful area surrounded by wooded areas and accompanying creatures, deer, etc... Nice landscaping and welcoming black iron lampposts make the neighborhood inviting.

This just shows the present nature of Detroit-how a safety and aestheticism can go from good to dangerous in a matter of blocks.
