"Disappearing Charm"

Highpoint Road, located adjacent to many residential neighborhoods and a major thoroughfare in Union City, use to be a very charming community. That is no longer the case, unfortunately. And in this case, looks can definitely be deceiving. Highpoint Road is not run down, the homes are nicely maintained, and there are no overt signs of major problems. The streets are lined with Georgia Pines, traffic volume is average, and there are some great recreational and extracurricular activities for children in the community to enjoy.

However, just under the surface, behind this facade of suburban/rural nicety is a brewing undercurrent of drug trafficking, and all the problems that kind of illicit activity bring to bear. That's what makes the charm of Highpoint Road begin to fade. Hopefully, neighbors won't give up on their community and let it go to the dogs both literally and figuratively.
Pros
  • eco and family friendly
  • great recreational and extracurricular activities for children
  • established
Cons
  • increasing crime rate
  • major undercurrent of illicit activity
  • transitional traffic due to location
