Flatiron is similar, architecturally, to Fidi, Midtown and the Upper East Side. Energy-wise, it's pretty unique. It's comprised of predominantly skyscrapers and massive apartment buildings. But, because it is so close to Union Square and hip areas like Chelsea and Gramercy, there are a lot of young people on the streets (there are always people walking around in this neighborhood -- even late at night) and a lot of restaurants and bars. Other neighborhoods with similar building and street plans don't have that kind of traffic or things to do.
