"Worth looking deeper"
Elliott Ave. provides a home to several businesses and the Seattle Art Institute, and at a cursory drive-by may seem just like a quick access road from the north end to downtown, but it's worth a deeper look. On the water side of the street, behind the businesses and school buildings lies Myrtle Edwards Park with a sweeping view of Puget Sound and some nice bike/pedestrian bike trails. While Elliott Ave may be bustling with working people and traffic, you miss all of that from the park. Traffic on the street can get a bit congested during the morning and afternoon rush hour and parking isn't always readily available, but the area is safe and the proximity to downtown is nice. It's also got quick access to Hwy 99 for southbound drivers.

"Elliott Avenue West - Your Route to Myrtle Edwards Park and more"
Elliott Avenue West at first seems a little rough around the edges. It's got some rather industrial parts to it and parking is always an issue (when isn't it?). However Elliott offers us Kinnear Park, Elliott Bay Park and of course, Myrtle Edwards Park. It is adjacent to Olympic Sculpture Park where you can see amazing larger-than-life outdoor sculpture. Parking near the parks is challenging so go during less-popular times of day would be my advice. Past the parks, Elliott turns into commercial real estate with the occasional historic factory building. A great place for photography enthusiasts!

"Main Drag Offers Lots to Do"
Elliot Avenue W is a long highway that runs along the water (Puget Sound), offering a plethora of stores, auto shops, restaurants and more. Taking Elliot Avenue sometimes warrants heavy traffic, depending on what time of day you are traveling, but the scenery is worth it. The Old Spaghetti Factory lies here, a great place for the entire family to eat.
