"The Central Park Zoo"
What is great about E. 74th St is the end that connects to 5th Ave. There is where the Central Park Zoo is located. It is such a nice green place to go. You not only get to see a lot of greenery, but also animals. On the other end of the street it is nothing much going on, especially at night.

"Quiet and Green"
What starts at the park, ends at the river. Not much is really happening along this street, but you can guarantee that you'll have some quiet moments if you want them. You'll find nice places to eat and drink the further east you go (though there isn't much past 1st ave) and people are as friendly as you'll find in NYC. Check out Banshee Pub just off 74th on 1st Ave - a great spot with warm bartenders, and cold beers.

"Nice neighborhood, street ends at Central Park"
This neighborhood becomes more and more residential (and less trendy) as you climb higher in the street numbers, and it also becomes more and more populated with rich old ladies as you climb higher.
Cocopazzo is a great restaurant on East 74th Street – it offers an upscale atmosphere and the standard neighborhood Italian fare.

"Deserted at Night"
East 74th street can easily fit into the typical niche description of the Upper East Side. It is mostly a residential street peppered with sparse restaurants and services. Although many of these locations are open late into the night, the street tends to be deserted after 9pm, as if most of its inhabitants flock westward for their nightly adventures. On its intersection with 3rd ave, East 74th street boasts "Bistro Le Steak" which is a quaint French Restaurant with a lively atmosphere and an entertaining bar staff. This restaurant, although not too overwhelming in its decor, is a nice little get away as it doesn't attract a suffocating amount of people. One particular regular however, does answer to the title of Governor. There isn't much that makes the street stand out, in any case, it's a nice strolling street.
