We're one block off Columbia Road, and one block off 18th Street, so we live right in the heart of Adams Morgan. Our street used to be part of the DC projects, but there's a LOT of construction going on, and the neighborhood is definitely on the rebound. There's a DC police substation one block away, so we hear sirens quite a bit, but they're not bad; they come and go quickly. We feel fairly safe walking around, even after dark, but you have to be very conscious of the vehicle traffic! Because we're so close to Adams Morgan, street parking is nearly impossible to find, and people are so anxious to find parking spaces, they completely disregard pedestrians.

For the most part, this is a great neighborhood, and we love living here. It's great to be able to walk one block and enjoy everything Adams Morgan has to offer, and walk a couple of blocks the other way, and be in Meridian Park. The best of both worlds.
