Living in the Burnside neighborhood of Chicago - whats it like?

Burnside is a bit on the South Side, and it's kinda a rough neighborhood, so I don't get over there very often. The crime rate isn't so high that I think you'll be in mortal danger every time you visit or anything like that, but you likely will need to be careful.

Burnside is one of the many Chicago neighborhoods trying to make a turn around. It still has a higher than average crime rate, but that could change with the recent influx of development and commercial businesses. There are plenty of restaurants, etc, but there are certain areas you'll want to avoid.
