"Central Residential"
Don't be fooled by its name - this Broadway is NOT the main drag of the corresponding town. In Santa Cruz, Broadway actually on the eastern part of town, away from both downtown and the nearby Beach Street, home to the boardwalk, wharf and amusement park. Rather, it is a residential main drag that happens to be home to some small businesses as well.
Considering that it parallels Soquel Avenue, a much busier street, Broadway is not too crowded. There is some traffic, but it is a fairly reasonably populated street that is easy to navigate. More importantly, it is on the better, less crowded, more residential side of Santa Cruz.
While this is not the equivalent of Broadway in other cities and does not have the host of restaurants that some of the other streets in this town do, it is just fine for driving through, or visiting.
