What should I do with my month in Boston?

I was planning on spending a month in Boston (January.) I'd like something serious and planned to occupy my time. Some type of temp job? Internship? Volunteer work? Ask people if I can shovel the snow on their driveway? Any specific ideas/examples/votes/links welcome!

Boston is loaded with art and culture not to mention the medical and technological fields. Volunteering in any of the top hospitals in Boston would be a fabulous experience. The top educational institutions are in Boston, just go and visit their libraries or their sport centers. Downtown Boston explodes with shopping and nightlife as well as sightseeing.
