Ashburn is pretty safe and certainly family oriented, but it's also somewhat of an irregular Southside neighborhood, so I'd check the North side for similar areas. Try Irving Park or Avondale.
Ashburn is a quiet, family community. It is kind of suburban feeling and reminds me of certain parts of Rogers Park or other nearly suburban Chicago neighborhoods.
