"Stayed at the Morris Park Inn and I was disguisted"

Before I found my place of residence in the area I stayed at the Morris Park Inn and I'm going to just let you in on my experience. I was not pleased by the service that's first off, the second thing was I wanted a view of St James Park and I got jipped and got the side of the building. I'm overall upset.

I think that if you are in the area you should take a moment and visit St. James Park because it has some really great places to relax and chill. You have to go there near sunset because that's when it's the most peaceful ( In my oppinion )

"Here for not the most happy circumstances but the maintenance was spectacular"

I drove on Bainbridge Avenue to pay my respects at Woodlake Cemetary. A friend passed away and requested to be buried at this location. I had no idea tha tthis plot was soo huge. I think that there was some very distict feeling that they were going for when you walk through this sacred ground. Through the grief I appreciated the maintenance that was up kept. I had no idea that a cemetary could be so large in size and yet each plot and space was very specificly maintained.

The homes on Bainbridge were nice, there were quite a few apartments that lined the outskirts of these grounds. I did not have a chance to really go back down this road because it reminded me of my friend and I really didn't want to bear the pain of seeing the place where she was lain to rest.

"Delicious Food, Okay area, I just don't like it during lunch hour"

I had a chance to sto pby Brook Avenue Deli and Pizza by E 141st street and it was sheer heaven for the senses! New York Pizza is the best when you have it authentic. There is a major difference in when you taste it from a major pizza company and the real thing. You need to stop in and have a slice that was freshly prepared. The dough was fresh, slightly burnt on the edges like I love it. I mean you wont believe the service and the prices are beyond a deal.

I suggest you take a walk down Brook Avenue ( Not too far, lots of traffic). There are a few great little knick knack shops that offer nice necklaces and antiques. But the shop that caused the most stir within me had to be Brook Avenue Deli and Pizza.

"This church made me move and lifted my soul !"

If you are at the intersectionn of Franklin Avenue and E 169th Street, you must walk into Franklin Avenue Baptist Church. I was searching for a place to call home to my spiritual being and found myself at the doorsteps of this holy architecture.

I'm a southern baptist and we take church very seriously, this church rivaled my own home church. The choir was amazing and I was lucky enough to come on a date that the pastor was reading from my favorite sermon. I had a loss for words. I know that there are alot of great business that I could speak of and homes that I could describe down this street but if you want the building that holds soo much in my heart, soul and spirit then I can only speak of The Franklin Avenue Baptist Church. I want to thank the congregation ( any of you who are reading) for welcoming and allowing me to join.

"Nicely cleaned, wonderful staff and a great price"

When I was searching for a place to live and all the other choices seemed to be a little too expensive I went to EZcity Rentals for help. They offered me assistance with getting a roommate, getting me aquainted with my area and offering me a furnished room. I don't want anyone to think that if you come to the Bronx that your just stuck out in the cold with no one to help you because that is not true. They offered me alot of different listings for places that I was able to stay at and they gave me the choice of the area.

When your moving to a place like New York, you need that type of help and I'm happy that I was able to find that help and from such sweet people. They offered me everything in the world to help me feel like I was still in control of my destiny in this destination.

"If your looking for fresh produce .... . . Don't Go To This Place"

I went to the supermarket between E 165 and E 166th Ave. . ..worse produce I have ever seen. Maybe I went on a day that they were waiting for the truck or something but wow. I mean I went to get a banana and it was beyond mushy to me. I went there because my car got messed up the day before and I had to walk there and it was the closests market to me but I will never shop there again. I know that the shop owner is a pretty nice guy, there have been times that I've seen him let a few people get away with not paying the full price for some groceries but I think that's only with the people who are " regular's " at his place of business. I went to this place thinking I could find some decent food and I was disappointed. The area overall is pretty subpar.... It's not the ritz but it makes you feel like home but I wouldn't shop here.

"The Price Is Steep but the Living is Nice!!!"

I lived in New York for about 2 years with my cousin. We decided that the best place to start looking was in the Bronx because alot of our family members came from up here. We stopped by Concourse Village Management to speak with them about the rental properties that they had available and they were... beyond nice. The price for the apartments and condo's were beyond our price range but they were very helpful with trying to find a place for us in our price range.

The rental properties range about 2 grand to almost 5 grand but they are in the nicest locations and your getting your penny's worth. We had a chance to stop by Concourse Village Youth Center and check out the programs that they had available for our children.

If you are a native new yourker then please support the programs for the Youth Centers. We found out a couple of weeks ago that Concourse Village Youth Center was about to close due to the budget cuts. But this is a really nice area.
