"Sleepy Santa Monica"
The neighborhood of Northeast Santa Monica is solid if fairly unglamorous locale, especially given its high profile neighbors. It is just south of the Brentwood Country Club, but don’t be fouled. This is not a highly ritzy neighborhood. The Mt. Olivet Reservoir marks its eastern border. In many ways, this is an extension of the Wilshire-Montana neighborhood with these two streets marking this border as well. What gives this neighborhood its distinctive quality however is the large proportion of Spanish Mission style homes and seventies style apartments. Rents are largely lower in this area and Wilshire is far more run down here than in the area closer to the beach. Overall, however, it is an affordable place for families to live in Santa Monica and fairly quiet as well.

- lower rents

- not too busy
Cons
- bland homes
- few shops or restaurants
- boring for Santa Monica
