Japanese American Museum is a great place to learn some local history. There are special events and presentations too. It also deals with how they were treated during WWII.
Le Petit Trianon is a nice little theater to see some local talent. The acoustics are great and the building is great and artistically built.
Kubota is a good upscale sushi place. It can get a bit crowded sometimes but is a nice spot for a date.
For a night out there is the San Jose Rock Shop‎ to see local bands and have a drink with friends. For the college age crowd or a little older.
