Great if you want to live on top of your neighbor !

Bel air is a nice town. It has great shopping and restaurants. However, if you are looking for a neighborly feel, then this is not your street. The houses are built on top of each other. Most only have .19 acres of land...YOu have houses in your back yard...I could wave to my neighbor while cooking dinner..The only thing is, my neighbor might call the cops on me for peeping. This street is very private and does not have the most friendly people. They keep to themselves even though you could hold hands out on your decks since you are so close. Find a neighborhood in Bel Air that has bigger yards..you will be happier.

Quiet, green, and family friendly

We live in the Audubon Woods area of Aspen Hill in Silver Spring. It is a nicely wooded town home community two miles from the Glenmont Metro station. It is conveniently near Silver Spring, Olney, and Rockville and not too far from Bethesda. It also has easy access to 29, 95, 270, and soon the ICC. Shopping locations are not that great, but there are some planned redevelopment near the Glenmont Metro Station.

The greatest thing about the neighborhood is that traffic is not too bad and there are lots of parks near by. We are also very close to Brookside Gardens, which is very beautiful.

Nice place to start/raise a family.

Mountain Estate Court is located in the middle of the growing suburb of Pasadena Maryland in the Baltimore-Washington corridor. Running between Mountain Estate Drive and Hazy Dawn Court this street is not used for thru traffic since Hazy Dawn dead ends in either direction.

At the corner of Mountain Estate Court and Mountain Estate Drive, there is a playground/tot-lot where the neighborhood children have a place to play in the safety of their neighborhood. Large common areas, like that at the end of Mountain Estate Court (across Mountain Estate Drive), are used for touch-football, baseball, kickball, Easter eggs hunts, volleyball, etc.

Anne Arundel County’s Arminger Fire Station is less than a half a mile away (At the corner of Mountain Estate Drive and Mountain Road).

Not the best place

The street is bad, there are junkies and allot of drugs and drug dealings and apparently gangs are now there. The neighbor hood is sort of like the television show "The Wire" unfortunately. Baltimore has one of the highest homicide rates in the nation. I have not been there lately. There is another show called "Ace of Cakes" that’s shows some positive things about Baltimore and the crab cakes. I visited once and I would be O.k. not going back.

"Perfect place to raise a family."or"Great place for active kids over 6."

try and write about things this your would want to know if your were moving to a new street.

Commercial street with a few apartment buildings

Cordell Avenue is 90% commercial as are the surrounding streets. The only residential are high rise apartments like Southern Towers. Restaurants, including many of the best in the DC metro area, are within walking distance as are health clubs and the Metro. It is pricey and noisy to live here - but the restaurants, night life and Metro are the benefits.

The place to be in Greenbelt

Greenbelt Road is a place to be. The mall of Greenbelt is located here. Right next to Chipotle and a bevy of food places. The mall also has a movie theater, Target, and Burlington Coat Factory. Greenbelt road also host Roosevelt Senior High School, which is across the street from a mini shopping center with Ross and Old Navy. The NASA Goddard Space Center is located on Greenbelt road and the entrance to the visitor center is only accessible from Greenbelt road. Along Greenbelt road you will notice many apartment and townhouse developments. You will also notice the places of religion.

Enough food choices for the whole family.

Sheriff road in Maryland gives you enough food choices for the whole family. From KFC to good old Arthur Treachers (a very delicious seafood restaurant). It stretches from DC through Maryland but don't stop somewhere that your not comfortable, there has been some incidents you may want to avoid traveling this road.

Nice neighborhood for families

My grandparents have lived in this neighborhoods for years and my mom grew up here. It's a wonderful little street right next to the Kenwood Country Club and minutes from downtown Bethesda. It's a quiet and friendly neighborhood for families with kids and older adults. There is never any disturbances in the area. The only thing is parking gets taken over on sundays by nearby churches but that should be a good thing!

Hey I know what you mean!

I was visiting a friend in Catonsville and also in Gwynn Oak. I drove Route 40 to escape 95 South one day. Mistake! Thanks for the great review. I know exactly what you mean. I saw the same stuff you describe. Thanks for mentioning it. I'm from Northern VA, in the Tysons Corner area.

Great place to live for anyone.

This street is superb! Located in a community of affluent Willow Run homes, Staley Manor Drive is bordered by walking paths, fields filled with deer, and a beautiful church. The street dead ends so the only vehicle traffic is from area residents. The HOA ensures that the grounds are well manicured. There are outstanding public and private schools in the immediate area and neighbors are more than friendly.

There are numerous parks within walking distance and brand new shopping and dining facilities within a 5 minute drive. Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed Army Medical Center are w/in 25 minutes.

One of the nicest and friendliest streets you could ever live on.

A beautiful, old street

Mount Vernon place is a beautiful street. There is a lovely park in the middle where they have outdoor activities in the summer, and the monument is a nice site to see. There are some high society "clubs" on this street, and parking is impossible so it is best to park on monument or to have your vehicle valeted.

A confusing entrance into the city

I395 is also known as Martin Luther King Blvd and is the exit off of I95 most used to enter the city. Exiting here can be confusing if you are unfamiliar with Baltimore. 395 provides the best way to get to Camden Yards and the Ravens Stadium by car, but you need to be careful while driving because when the highway ends, the streets you will first encounter in the city are one way.

Mix of residential and commercial

Bowley's Quarters road has a decent mix of residential areas and commercial areas. Many of the side streets back to water and have nice views. There are some newer housing developments as well as older apartment complexes along the road. There is easy access to a wal-mart and other stores, and the drive in theater is nearby as well.

Small road, mainly residential

Joppa Road is a fairly small road that runs from Route 7, over Route 40 and ends on Trimble road. Toward the Trimble road end you are easily accessible to the schools in Joppatowne. There are houses along this road and they are probably somewhat quiet, but you wouldn't want your children to play out in the yard as people tend to speed down this road.

Busy City Avenue

Eastern Avenue, through Baltimore City, is a very busy and congested road. You can easily get to Hopkins Bayview and Patterson Park via Eastern Avenue, but I'm not a fan of driving on this road.

Baltimore's Backed up Beltway

I lived in Baltimore for years and I think I can count on one hand how many times I have been on 695 without it being either backed up or slowed down due to construction. There are also several strange exits on the road - to get off onto 43 in White Marsh you need to be in the far left lane, which usually results in people cutting you off.
2/5Poor

Busy road through middle river

Martin Blvd is a somewhat busy road going straight through Middle River. The neighborhoods on the side streets are fairly quiet, with war-era housing. In the past few years they have re-vamped the grocery stores and establishments in the area, making it a nicer place to live.
1/5Terrible

Filthy, dirty Baltimore at it's best.

Much of route 40 in Baltimore and the surrounding area is filthy. There are some decent places to shop along Route 40, but driving past the sketchy inns and restaurants is not worth it. Use Route 40 only when you need to, as it tends to get backed up during high traffic times and when I95 is busy.
4/5Good

Close to convenience

White Marsh Blvd is very convenient. The mall is nearby, along with tons of shopping, grocery stores and restaurants. The small side streets in this area seem like quiet places to live even though they are close to busy 695. I think the location and convenience of this street would outweigh the negative aspect of being crowded and busy.
2/5Poor

In the heart of Joppatowne

Joppa Farm Road is not a bad street. It goes right through the heart of Joppatowne and has easy access to the high school, library and marina. It intersects with Route 40 where there is a large shopping center with a nice new grocery store. Joppa Farm road is convenient, but it can be a busy road. The speed limit is also low through town, so watch your speed.
4/5Good

A great walking street for tourists

W. Pratt Street is a great street to walk for a night on the town and such. Watch out when walking though because the street is kind of wide and there is a lot going on as it's right off the Baltimore Harbor...one of Baltimore's main tourist attractions and hot spots. Yet, it cuts right through Downtown amongst the high-rises and office towers; so if you're taking a walk during lunch time a businessperson taking a break may be in a rush and not want to obey pedestrian laws. In the summer, breezes from the harbor always seem to keep the air cooler than other parts of the city. From Pratt Street you have access to the Hard Rock Cafe on the Harbor, the Cheesecake Factory, and other great eating places on the Harbor. Shopping is also prevalent as some higher-end stores line this street too. This is also one of the better paved streets Downtown...a rarity in Baltimore.

A good bypass--sometimes

Interstate 895 was built to bypass the traffic and hustle and bustle of Downtown Baltimore served by Interstate 95. It works most times, but sometimes it can be just as bad as I-95 traffic wise. Because it's only 2 lanes in each direction, I-895 can be a nightmare especially when there is night construction. Oftentimes, I-95 is having construction so traffic updates on the road say to opt to take I-895. They both have the same toll anyway ($2.00) and practically take up the same amount of time to get across town. But going through the Harbor Tunnel doesn't make things easier...people always slow down more than they need to around the tunnel.

Feels like it belongs in NYC or Philly

Greenmount Avenue is a street that reminds me of streets in Queens, New York, and Philadelphia. This is mainly because what lines the street in some areas are decent inner-city homes, but in other areas the street is heavily lined with Chinese Food and Chicken take out restaurants. They look illegitimate to out-of-towners, but locals flock to these restaurants. Additionally it also reminds me of up north, because is also a church on every other corner; which of course is a good thing in for inner-city life. Other than that, there is nothing all that special about this four-lane street.

Beautiful, Lovely street

Light Street in Baltimore, Maryland is a wonderful place to visit. It gets a bit crowded at certain times but even then it is amazing. The Inner Harbor and all its surrounding streets are very nice. Just going for a walk down the street turns into a beautiful experience with sights words can’t explain.

Really Good Times

Water Street is rather small in comparison to most others in the area but can guarantee you a good time! There is always something fun and unique to offer you. Water street is also very appealing to the eye. I would recommend more for younger people. Singles and couples alike would have a great time.

I love market place!

If you are going downtown you should definitely go to Power Plant. It is located at Market and water street. Power Plant is a area that is full of great bars to try and it has a little of everything. My personal favorite is Angels Rock bar. Which is all rock. There is babalou which is a dance club kind of Cuban themed. There is also Rams Head which is a venue where live bands play. Local and some very popular groups. They just opened a new bar called lucky’s which has pool tables and an outside lounge. There is also mosaic which hosts fashion shows. And I the warmer months they have bands plying outside and since It is all gated in you are aloud to bring your drinks from the bars out to watch and drink.

Eutaw ST Best deals.

Eutaw street is right in back of Lexington Market. There is some great shopping to be had on Eutaw a lot of deals and street vendors. You can find deals like a dozen of T shirts for $20. It is a very busy street. I love the market and There is a great nail shop that's inexpensive named MIMI's . It very popular with the ladies. I would recommend you go her with your wallet because your sure to see something you like.

the street that separates the corporate world and the real world.

This is a very busy road. This to me is like a mini highway. It separates the corporate world of Downtown from the rest of the world. On one side of the street you have tall buildings leading you into the downtown area, and on the other city you have apartment house. Some are nice some not so nice. You can clearly see its the line of demarcation.

I miss Baltimore.

I live in Baltimore for sometime, I didn't realize how much I would miss the place until I left. The harbor is a great place to visit especially during the 4th of July if you can find parking. The food is great especially at the Lexington Market. I always get a roast turkey sandwich and cookies when I go there . J Hopkins Hospital is ranked number 1 in the country. Many say its a violent city but, I didn't experience any violence when I was there. Many people seem to have a good connection with a higher power so I wasn't worried. In all I would recommend visiting this city and even living there. DC is really close and the cost of living is a lot lower than living there. It makes for a good commute during the week
