What's the best place to get your car's brakes fixed in Louisville/Lafayette?

I know Stan's Automotive is great but expensive, and there's Brakes Plus. Can anyone vouch for the honesty/integrity at one of these car shops? I always feel like I'm getting hosed.

A popular local place and supporter of the community is Stans Tire, they offer full service auto repair and maintenance. They are located on S. Boulder Rd. on the West side of Lafayette. You will often see folks birthdays and anniversaries announced on their sign along S. Boulder Rd.

I would highly recommend Goodyear Tire Center on Dixon Avenue in Lafayette. They are honest, knowledgable, good mechanics and I have been going to them for the past 3 years.

avantassel Actually, I would not go anywhere else, I have even called them up, half way across the country on a road trip to ask for advice with a sound my old rig was making. They are the best!

Although I live in another part of the state and can't vouch for the Louisville or Lafayette area, I have been going to one of two Midas locations in my area. They are independently owned, but are a franchise so you know they follow certain company guidelines. For the first time ever I don't feel liked I'm getting hosed, as you say. They are friendly and always explain what needs to be done without any pressure and one time even told me where I could get something I needed done for a really good price. If you just want to try them out, I suggest taking your car in for an oil change. They charge less than half of what my local Grease Monkey does for the same thing. Anyway, just a suggestion.
