Do I need to bring a buddy with me to the fashion district or would I be okay shopping alone?

New FIDM student here. I need to buy fabric for my classes. It would be easier planning-wise to just be able to make a spontaneous trip on my own, but since I'm not overly familiar with the area I'm a little unsure about being by myself.

If you're not bothered by random homeless people, then shoot for it. If you are scared of the homeless and possible dirty areas downtown, then bring a friend.
