Costa Mesa Fwy, Santa Ana

This area is located just up the street from South Coast Plaza, but, as it in Santa Ana, which doesn't have such a great reputation, there really wasn't much special about it. About eight years ago, they tried to "fancy" it up by building apartments, townhouses and a few retail shops. It took a few years for it all to get off the ground, but, they were doing ok, also thanks to a few companies having very large headquarters right there (it was convenient for people to live, eat and play right next to where they work). A couple of years ago, two high-rise condo towers were built and Macarthur Boulevard was going to see its rebirth. Unfortunately, something happened where the builder went bankrupt (or something like that) and the high-rises stood empty. Lately, though, they have been advertising them as apartments for rent, which is great, because they look awesome! Once people start moving in to them, the retail around that area will grow with the demand. And you can not beat the location: right next to South Coast Plaza for shopping; close to the Orange County Performing Arts Centre for your cultural influences; and adjacent to the 55 and 405 for wherever you need to get to! I can not wait to see what happens to this area in the next few years (although, they better make some traffic planning decisions soon - it already is kind of a mess around there)!
