Thanks for the advice! My girlfriend and I just went to Borough Park to check out the neighborhood and visited a couple of the places you suggested. A few updates for your list: Kosher D-Lox is now called Cheese D-Lox and Gravesend Park is actually on 18th ave on 56th st.

We are keeping a blog documenting our search for a home in Brooklyn, so if you want to read our full report, you can check it out here: http://iwantawalkup.tumblr.com/post/1156549342/review-borough-park-brooklyn

@BuyingBy2012 I read your report and found it most interesting. Since I live in Manhattan and am not very familiar with all of Brooklyn, I look forward to reading your reports on the various neighborhoods of the borough. Good luck with your search.

I love discovering new neighborhoods. Thanks so much for your list. I'd be up for trying Kosher Food - I always really enjoy Kosher restaurants as an alternative to the daily grind
