King William is an historic street southwest of downtown San Antonio, Texas onto which a large number of Germans had immigrated in the mid 1800s. That's how King William got its nickname “Sauerkraut Bend.” There are buildings that offer a unique blend of differing architectural styles including Victorian. Some of the homes which have been restored have become Bed & Breakfasts in recent years. Not only does King William Street in this historical area of San Antonio offer the typical tourist attractions, restaurants, coffee houses, etc., but it also like taking part in a live history lesson.
