We love the area. Piedmont Trace is very well kept up and a nice, quiet neighborhood. Only downfall about buying a house here is that there is a rock quarry about a half mile away and they blast once a day around 12pm and it's noticeable. Besides that, it is a great neighborhood.

This is a very busy main traffic road going north / south in a light industrial area. The best thing about it is the Ducati shop just north of Jalan Besar. You'd be better off living or staying in a hotel if you're visiting on a block that does not face such a busy road.

I went there one time to enjoy a drink at one of the local bars and it was fun. The people there were nice..but to me it was like a college "town" street. Loud people in the roads and loud live music from the bars. I honestly do not see how anyone could buy a house in that area. But if you are young...

There really isnt anything very interesting on this road. It is pretty off by itself. Nonetheless, i would say it is an easy target for kids to run loose and/or tag up the place. I didnt find it very clean either. Trash on the side of the road..a few teenagers were walking down it when i was passing...

The neighborhood itself is alot older looking..it is well kept though. I am more for the new suburbian look. They do have some nice restaraunts there though. Martin Blvd is a somewhat busy road going straight through Middle River. The neighborhoods on the side streets are fairly quiet, with war-era housing. In the past few years they have re-vamped the grocery stores and establishments in the area, making it a nicer place to live.

Much of route 40 in Baltimore and the surrounding area is filthy. There are some decent places to shop along Route 40, but driving past the sketchy inns and restaurants is not worth it. Use Route 40 only when you need to, as it tends to get backed up during high traffic times and when I95 is busy.
