Trash Cans At Street Corners

Has anyone noticed the trash cans at street corners recently. I noticed they are not being empted as often as they should. How is the area where you live? Do you have trash containers at street corners where you live? If so, are they empted on a regular basis?

Haven't noticed that, but then again I find their presence surprising. I used to live in Paris, where they had to be clear bags (supported by a single pole), and in England, where they don't have them at all: the legacy of the \95 Algerian bombings and the IRA, respectively. With all the bizarre security measures NYC takes, it hasn't taken one quite common one!
