Should Police be Tried for Unnecessary Killing or Shooting

There have been a number of situations in NYC where cops have used force to hinder their victims harmless so they can take them into custody. The problem has been that the police have been accused of using excessive force in doing their jobs.

Have you heard of situations that involved the cops using excessive force? If so, what was the incident? What were the results? How do you feel about it? Do you agree or disagree that cops should be tried for killing someone needlessly or shooting someone too many times when only one or two shots would do.

Yeah. No one is here to judge. I was just wondering what people thought. Personally, I understand that police officers have to do their jobs when they arrest someone, but I do not think they have to go to extreme measures to do it, if the person they are arresting is not violent. If the cops had a criminal with a gun pointing at them, I could understand self-defense is in order. But again, not to the point where 41 shots are fired. You can kill someone by one bullet in the right place.

I think police should be more properly trained to handle situations like excessive force while in the field. It should only be used when necessary. At least that is my opinion. If anyone has a different opinion, I would like to hear it.
