Public and Transit Advocates Call For Improved Subway Security

According to NY1, a city public advocate made a statement about the MTA laying off workers. They claimed that instead of laying off workers, they save money and go after fare beaters. Fare beaters end up costing the city around $27 million a year.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I think the MTA should go after fare beaters. By the fare beaters doing what they do, it hurts it for all of us.

That's such a depressing truth. Although given how expensive a metro ticket is right now, I hate to say it, but it's almost understandable...
