NYC by Trains
It doesn't matter whether you are leaving or coming into the city, you can travel by train. NYC has two main rail stations: Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station. At the Grand Central Terminal you can go upstate NY by using the Metro-North Commuter Railroad. if you do not want to go upstate, you can go to Connecticut and New Jersey. if you are looking to go to Long Island (LIRR) or Amtrak, or NJ Transit, Penn Station carries leave trains.
You will find Grand Central Terminal on 42nd St and Park Ave between Lexington Ave and Vanderbilt ave. Penn Station can be found on the West Side. The entrance to the LIRR can be found on 7th Ave. Penn Station itself can be found between 31st and 33rd St between Seventh and Eight Aves.
