Hospitals in NYC

It was once talked about that Bloomberg cut back city services so much that any hospital that was funded by the city would also be shut down. I know 3 hospitals shut down in the last two years. Does anyone recall those hospitals? Does anyone know of any hospitals near where you live that is closing its doors, threatening to close, or have already closed?

According to recent news reports St Vincents, the last Catholic hospital in the city which is located in the West Village and which is struggling financially will soon be taken over by a medical group called Continuum Health Partners which will most likely turn it to a community health center and shut down most of emergency services. This is the only hospital that serves the lower West Side and closing it would be a tragedy-
